Myrtle Liqueur

Ingredients: ethanol, myrtle, sugar

Myrtle liqueur is made by macerating ripe myrtle berries in local grape brandy, produced by distilling Plavac Mali. The myrtle berries are harvested around Vrisnik on the island of Hvar. Myrtle is exceptionally aromatic. The medicinal properties of myrtle have been known since ancient Greece, and it is often used to soothe stomach complaints.
