Peppers (OPG Loboda Stjepan) - 10 pcs
Red onion (OPG Ivana Debelić) - 2 heads
Garlic (OPG Ivana Debelić) - 4 cloves
Fresh cow's milk cheese (OPG Božić) - 500g
Sweet ground paprika (Stipino)
Rice - half a cup
Bacon - 100g
Minced beef - 800g
Salt and pepper
Tomato paste or passata - 100ml

Finely chop the onion and place it into an oiled baking dish (with a lid) that you plan to bake in. Season the minced meat with salt and pepper and add half a tablespoon of sweet ground paprika (smoked works too), mix everything well, then sauté gently in a heated pan. Once the meat has browned, remove it from the heat and let it cool a bit. Once cooled, add the rice.
Take the cored peppers and stuff them with the prepared meat mixture. Once stuffed, arrange the peppers in the baking dish, tucking pieces of bacon between them.

Pour over a mixture of: 100 ml tomato juice, 100 ml plain water and cover with the lid. Bake at 200 degrees for about 1 hour to 1.5 hours. The peppers are done when they brown nicely and the rice is tender. At the end, top each pepper with a teaspoon of cheese and return uncovered to bake until slightly browned.

Serve with mashed potatoes.
