WHAT IS GOAT MILK?

Goat milk is the milk produced by goats. Understanding what goat milk consists of is essential for understanding it as a cosmetic raw material in personal care products.

Goat milk consists of about 30% fatty acids, nearly twice as much as cow's milk. The milk is very nutritious, with just one glass providing 35% of the daily calcium requirement. It is a rich source of proteins, triglycerides, capric, caprylic, and caproic acid, vitamins A, D, E, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, as well as minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and phosphorus. These properties make it a relatively popular ingredient in the food and beverage industry. However, it has recently also been recognized as a beneficial and nourishing ingredient in soaps and cosmetic products.

Although milk was used in skincare by Queen Cleopatra over 2,000 years ago, it is only recently that the cosmetic industry has recognized it as a highly valuable and useful ingredient in many cosmetic formulations. Skincare products such as soaps, lotions, creams, and cleansers made from goat milk have made their way into major global beauty markets. Most of these manufacturers use powdered goat milk in their products. Prirodna kozmetika Helena sets itself apart by using fresh, local goat milk from certified organic Slavonian pastures.

BENEFITS OF GOAT MILK IN COSMETIC PRODUCTS

Vitamins B6 and B12 – help add moisture.

Triglycerides – increase skin elasticity and strengthen the skin's hydrolipid barrier.

Goat milk has an alkaline reaction, just like breast milk. Cow's milk produces an acidic reaction. An acidic environment encourages the growth of bacteria, fungi, and viruses.

Rich in butterfat – as unhealthy as this might sound, it is actually wonderful for your skin.

Contains selenium, a mineral with antioxidant properties that helps neutralize free radicals that can cause premature skin aging.

It is easy to see that each of these nutrients provides unique benefits for the skin, but when combined in goat milk, the results are incredible – especially for those with sensitive skin, as it helps restore the skin's barrier function while soothing irritation, which has proven particularly beneficial for conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis, and similar.

GOAT MILK PRODUCTS

Cosmetic products based on goat milk are becoming increasingly popular. The most common types of cosmetic preparations made from goat milk are:

Cleansers – Soaps and face washes made from goat milk offer a gentle way to remove excess dirt and oil from the face without over-drying the skin.

Moisturizers – Natural milk proteins found in goat milk help strengthen the lipid barrier, making it an excellent ingredient for moisturizing creams.

Eye cream – goat milk is a perfect ingredient for eye creams because it helps restore moisture and soften the skin around the eyes.

Prirodna kozmetika Helena currently offers only soaps for washing, cleansing, and body care. Moisturizing face creams are currently in development and are expected mid-year.
