Vinotočje Gerštmajer is a family farm engaged in rural tourism and the production of wine from its own vineyards. The owner of the family farm is Mihalj Gerštmajer, who was born in Zmajevac in 1951. As viticulture and winemaking are a long-standing tradition in the Gerštmajer family, he became involved in working with wine from a young age as the fourth generation. The Gerštmajer vineyards are situated in a location exceptionally well suited to viticulture and winemaking. Grapevines were cultivated in this region even before the Romans, meaning the vineyards lie on land with a centuries-old tradition. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of land, which is more than enough for producing top-quality wines; as Mihalj Gerštmajer notes, in his view the optimal vineyard area is somewhere between 10 to 20 hectares with around 50 to 70 thousand bottles of wine for a winemaker to become relatively well-known, build ongoing success, and earn recognition for their wines. Wine production ranges from dry to predicate wines. Besides his Graševina, Rhine Riesling, Traminac and Chardonnay carrying premium quality labels, they are also distinctive for being late harvests.
